SOPHIA ISBERG

At Charlottenborg´s castle there are a great number of wooden carvings made by Sophia Isberg.

Sophia Isberg was born 1819 and spent all her life in Motala where she was well acknowledged as an artist.
At a very early age she started carving pipe heads and developed her art to include very artistic products. Using simple tools she carved pipes, boxes and bigger urns with extremely detailed motifs.
She was interested in history, which can be seen on many of her products.
